History and elegance
History of the Villa
Built in the late 17th century by the Pontanari Martellini family, this elegant Tuscan villa was purchased in 1700 by Piero Nati, director of the Giardino dei Semplici in Florence, the third oldest botanical garden in the world, who created part of the romantic Italian garden.
In the early 1800s, the Nati family undertook some restoration work.
Around 1820, the villa and surrounding land were sold to the noble Marcucci family, who owned it until around 1870, when it was purchased by Enrico Parrini, a merchant and businessman from Bibbiena, founder of a small local bank, the Banca Popolare di Bibbiena. Upon his death in 1913, the villa was inherited by the Montini family, who still own it today.
The villa has been recently restored and is equipped with all comforts.
